Tartan Party In The Park, Glasgow Green, Scotland - November 17th 2007

MORE than 7000 fans crammed into Glasgow Green to watch Scotland's biggest match in years, the vital Euro 2008 qualifying match against world champions Italy at Hamden Park. FOURGOODMEN performed live in the pre-match build up and went down a storm. Tickets for the event had sold out in minutes since they went on general sale just 7 days before. The thirsty Tartan Army got through a staggering £250,000 of beer - that's 20,000 cans - during the knees-up, which went on until 10pm. The atmosphere at the Green was more like a rock concert, with the game beamed on to six jumbo screens. Some cheeky supporters stood over warm air vents, causing their kilts to rise in the style of Marilyn Monroe. The atmosphere was electric! Scotland needed a win against Italy to qualify, but unfortunately they fell at the final hurdle, beaten 2-1, thus ending their dream of qualification. Nevertheless, the nation was proud of their bravehearts, who had excelled themselves with some brilliant performances in the qualifying campaign, including 2 wins over the French.

FOURGOODMEN took to the stage in mid-afternoon, playing a great set that had the masses giving a fine exhibition in 'Crowd Participation'. The set list was as follows...

Glittering Prize

KissCool

Chance

Someone Somewhere in Summertime

Love Song

Heart of Wonder

In A Big Country

Don’t You Forget About Me...Encore: Alive And Kicking.

The band line-up was Ian Donaldson (Lead Vocals), Derek Forbes (Bass), Mick MacNeil (Keyboards), Malky Button (Drums), Jane Button (Backing Vocals), Carrie MacNeil (Bagpipes). Yvonne McHugh was unavailble so her cousin Alex stood in during her absence. Graeme Duffin also had prior commitments with Wet Wet Wet and was replaced on Lead Guitar by Frank O Hare, formerly of H2o.
